Privacy Policy

Effective date:

This Privacy Policy explains how Developete collects, uses, and shares information when you use developete.com and related Developete sites (including our media kit and blog links from this site).

Who we are

Developete is operated by DEVELOPETE LTD (“Developete”, “we”, “us”).

If you have questions about this policy or your personal data, contact us at the email address listed at the end of this page.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to the Developete website (developete.com), including the homepage, this privacy page, and the media kit when served from this project.

Third-party sites we link to — such as YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Kit newsletter pages, or blog.developete.com if hosted separately — have their own privacy policies. When you leave our site, their terms apply.

Information we collect

We aim to collect only what we need to run the site and communicate with you.

  • Newsletter signup: if you subscribe, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name. That information is processed by Kit (ConvertKit) on our behalf so we can send the newsletter.
  • Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used (for example, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device/browser type, and referral source). GA4 may set cookies or similar identifiers.
  • Server and hosting logs: our hosting provider may automatically receive technical data such as IP address, request time, and user agent when you load the site. We use this for security, reliability, and debugging.
  • Messages you send us: if you email us, we receive whatever you include in that message.

How we use information

We use personal data to:

  • Send the newsletter and related transactional messages (such as confirmation emails) when you subscribe
  • Understand traffic and improve the website
  • Respond to inquiries and partnership requests
  • Protect the site against abuse and keep services running
  • Comply with legal obligations where required

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (property configured via our site environment). Analytics helps us see which pages are useful and how people find Developete.

A cookie consent banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. We only load Google Analytics after you choose Accept. If you choose Decline, analytics is not loaded. Your choice is stored in your browser’s localStorage so we don’t ask on every visit.

You can clear site data in your browser to reset that choice and see the banner again. Theme preference (light/dark) may also be stored in localStorage; that stays on your device and is not sent to us as a profile.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with service providers who help us operate Developete, including:

  • Kit (ConvertKit) — newsletter subscription and email delivery
  • Google — Analytics (GA4)
  • Hosting / infrastructure providers that serve this website

These providers process data under their own terms and only as needed to provide their services to us.

How long we keep data

Newsletter data is kept while you remain subscribed, and for a reasonable period afterward if needed for suppression lists or legal reasons. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails.

Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings and Google’s product terms.

Email correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle your request and maintain normal business records.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent (for example, by unsubscribing from the newsletter).

To exercise these rights, email us using the contact address below. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

Developete is aimed at adults learning software development. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
